our names are dalton + Aylin rhode.
rib and stone emerged as a creative venture inspired by antique hand-etched items, primitive textiles, and Vintage structural designs. Our passion lies in the art of preserving the essence of the past while infusing it with a modern spirit, creating pieces that transcend trends and stand the test of time.
We’ve developed a deep and longstanding connection, rooted in our shared experiences growing up in Brownsville, Texas. From friends to romantic partners, we’ve navigated life's milestones and explored new horizons together. our shared environment and similar upbringing have shaped our artistic perspectives and created a strong bond, making our joint endeavor, Rib and Stone, not just a business but a rewarding journey of shared creativity and mutual growth.,
WE embarked on our ceramic journey in August 2022 with determination and passion, despite limited experience and time. Converting our garage into a pottery studio was a bold move, with Dalton focusing on hand building while I honed MY skills on the wheel. Watching numerous YouTube videos helped ME grasp techniques like centering, pulling walls, and shaping clay.
From the outset, our interest in carving clay and exploring various patterns and textures provided a sense of fulfillment. Over time, WE've refined our techniques, improved carvings, and streamlined THE cleanup process, showcasing our commitment to growth and mastery in THE craft.
Our aspirations for Rib + Stone include continuing to see you using our handcrafted ceramics, from inception to completion. We aim to introduce one-of-a-kind sculptural pieces and establish partnerships with galleries and retailers to showcase our creations.
